Accessibility at Iron Forge
We are dedicated to providing an inclusive, welcoming environment for athletes of all abilities. From our physical space to our digital presence, we strive to remove barriers and ensure everyone can participate fully.
Inclusion Is a Core Value
Iron Forge Athletics is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and to continually improving the accessibility of our facility and services. We believe fitness is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and we actively work to accommodate diverse needs.
Open Dialogue
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing journey. We welcome feedback from our members and visitors. If there is anything we can do to make your experience more comfortable or inclusive, please let a staff member know or use the form below. We will do our best to provide reasonable accommodations.
Physical Accessibility
Our South Congress facility was designed with accessibility in mind. Here are some of the features we offer.
Wheelchair Access
Our entrance is step-free with a wide automatic door. Aisles and training zones are spacious enough for wheelchair navigation, and our front desk counter is at an accessible height.
Accessible Restrooms
Both men's and women's locker rooms include ADA-compliant stalls, grab bars, and accessible sinks. A private family restroom is also available.
Service Animals Welcome
Trained service animals are permitted throughout the facility. We ask that they remain on a leash or harness and under your control at all times. Water bowls available upon request.
Assistive Listening
Our coaches use wireless microphone systems during group classes to ensure instruction is clear and audible throughout the training floor. Please let us know if you'd benefit from this.
Visual & Audio Cues
Workout timers feature both visual countdowns and audible alarms. Written workout descriptions are posted on large screens, and coaches are happy to provide verbal walkthroughs.
Personalized Support
Our coaching team is experienced in adapting movements for various physical abilities. During your free intro, we'll discuss any specific needs and create a plan that works for you.
Digital Inclusion
We aim to make our website usable by as many people as possible, including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technologies.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Semantic HTML | We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA labels to help assistive technology interpret page structure. |
| Keyboard Navigation | All interactive elements are reachable and operable using only a keyboard. Focus states are visible on all links and buttons. |
| Color Contrast | Our text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios for readability against dark backgrounds. |
| Resizable Text | You can zoom in up to 200% using your browser without loss of content or functionality. |
| Descriptive Links | Links include meaningful text to indicate their purpose, avoiding ambiguous phrases like "click here." |
| Accessible Forms | All form fields have associated labels, and error messages are presented in a way assistive technology can detect. |
